Welcome to the River Church website. Thank you for visiting, we hope you enjoy who we are and what we do.

what we do

The River believes that God blessed us so that we may bless others. We have a big heart for missions and for helping the poor and oppressed. Here are some things we do to follow God’s plan for blessing others: A couple of times per month, we provide a meal and chapel service for the men of the Waterfront Rescue Mission, where men who are poor, addicted, abused, and/or homeless seek help. We take great pleasure in spending time with them and serving them. Our community meets for a Community Meal twice per month. This is a time to invite neighbors and others outside of The River to partake in a meal and experience true acceptance and community, and it also gives the people of The River an opportunity to serve others. Several members of The River sponsor orphaned children from various countries, including India and Kenya. The River does a variety of fundraisers to send money to our missionaries or other organizations, including clothes drives, dance parties, concerts, yard sales, and bake sales. We are constantly brainstorming other creative ways we can raise money for the missionaries we support and appreciate any and all help.

being an afflux of authentic life

Here at The River, we like to say that we want to live and be "an afflux of authentic life" to those in and around our community. Just as the heart pumps blood throughout the body, we want to circulate all the blessings Christ has given us into and throughout the community. We believe that this circulation needs to be one that brings truth to others, loves all, and rescues those in need, basically it needs to be unblemmished in helping the community. It needs to be authentic.
